Maksteel’s journey through the textile industry is a story of continuous growth, adaptation, and technological advancement. From serving the handloom sector, the company gradually expanded into manufacturing wire healds for power looms, rapier looms, airjets, and eventually for high-speed electronic jacquard machines.
By 2003, Maksteel had successfully diversifi edits off erings to include complete jacquard harness components such as harness cords, comber boards, wire healds with spring assemblies, and profi le frames. This expansion made Maksteel the fi rst Indian company to locally produce these components—an achievement that not only strengthened India’s textile supply chain but also positioned the company as a valuable export substitute for global customers.
The next chapter in Maksteel’s evolution began with a strategic expansion into the stainless steel industry. With the acquisition of an 1945 established company in the north of Italy named Trafi leria Lombarda S.P.A and has been operating since several decades, Maksteel has gain know how and technical knowledge form that company by purchasing the entire company. Also with the purchasing agreement and technical knowledge gained from Bekaert – India by buying wire drawing machines from them. Maksteel entered the domain of stainless steel wire manufacturing, marking a signifi cant milestone in its growth story.
